The Bored Aptos Story
An organic tale of triumph and innovation in all its derivative glory on the Aptos blockchain
One cold October morning, a degen builder by the name of Royal hand-minted 10,000 NFTs resembling the Bored Ape Yacht Club from scratch.
These NFTs had been tweaked and regenerated, then deployed to the Aptos blockchain via a wonky Node.js script powered by Aptos’ buggy and overly opinionated Typescript SDK.
One thing led to another, and by the end of the second night of Aptos’ main net being live, we were in the top 10 of Topaz.so’s leaderboard — the leading marketplace for the Aptos blockchain.
Things weren’t all peaches and cream, however, and on our third night of being a brand new collection our Twitter was hacked by bad actors called “Aptos Frens”.
Twitter declined to recover the account for us based on an email discrepancy and we lost 3,000 organic followers that we had built up in the past few days. Then our website was taken down from our original hosting provider as a result of another targeted attack.
It didn’t stop us though.
We persevered and as of today, we are moving closer than ever towards our goal of being the biggest, ORGANIC project on Aptos.
No marketing, just hype and loyalty.
That’s been our mantra since Day 1.
Roadmap, ser. Pls.
Every project needs a north star, and ours is no different.
Though we started off as a derivative, our goal has always been to create a dent in the market with our own ideas. Our experimentation with Bored Apes was just the start of that, and it allowed us to build a thriving, loyal community that’s worth building anything and everything for.
But we can’t build everything in one day, or week, or even month.
We need direction.
Thus, Royal and the team hunkered down on what people liked the most in NFT project(s) and trimmed the fat off the stuff we didn’t need.
We spoke with advisors in regards to law, intellectual property, read up on securities’ law, monitored on-going cases, and other things of importance regarding Bored Aptos.
Then we came to this conclusion: It’s possible to provide awesome utility for our holders without getting the founding team into heaps of trouble.
So, we decided that we’re simply going to put out what works the best for our project and makes the most sense, while continuously protecting the community we’ve built:
- Token — (weekend of 11/4/2022) [scroll below for tokenomics]

- !!! [can’t copy this]
- ?!?!?!!!!!! [REALLY can’t copy this]
- …
- APE. NEVER. ALONE. 🦍
Unfortunately, that means we cannot disclose everything we’re building in detail until the day of launch for most utilities.
Awh!
We know.
We know.
Trust me, we know.
But there are two really important reasons behind that:
- We don’t want to be front-run on our idea(s) and product MVP(s), as we don’t have as much funding as the bigger projects.
- We don’t need the overall headache that comes from being a big project until after the art upgrade. Sorry.
With this in mind, we can still put out utility and be the best-kept secret on the Aptos blockchain until we’re not. No matter how many times Topaz and other marketplaces try to fade us based on fear,
We don’t operate based on fear.
We operate on Apedust.
WTF is Apedust?!! (LORE)
At a party in Los Refugios (City of Refuges) on Planet Aperth, intelligent alien apes gather to celebrate the discovery of a cosmic meteorite dust from the stars of their home galaxy called “Apedust.”
Some even brew it to drink. But what are the very dire consequences of such an action?
It isn’t mutation, but rather transmutation.
See, we told you early on that these apes weren’t going to be alone in the jungle. But it’s a bit bigger than that.
There’s an entire world we’re building here, and at the heart of it is scientific experimentation and the magical, mythical struggle for power founded on the ape’s discovery.
Here are some questions to ask while you wait for the first bit of lore:
- Who are the fallen Aptlympus mortals that created the alien Apes? How can we learn more about them?
- Why are the Apes living on the planet Aperth, in the Aptos galaxy and not on their own?
- Who are the other animals that banished them there to live in the City of Refuges forever? Will the apes accept their isolation, or fight back?
- What the heck is Planet Aperth?
These are questions that can only be answered through a tale of lore.
And what better way to tell it than [REDACTED]?
Ser, About The Token…
APETOS ($APETOS)
APETOS is a utility-based token on Aptos that provides access and utility in the ecosystem built by Hvsh Labs, which is called the [REDACTED].
It’s pronounced Ape-tos, by the way.
Total Supply: 1,000,000,000
=Allocation=
- 74% for Ecosystem funds
- 34% of Ecosystem Funds: Airdrop
50% of Airdrop for Bored Aptos GEN 1
2. 40% of ecosystem fund: Staking utility
- 10% for Community Treasury Wallet and [REDACTED]
- 16% for [REDACTED]
- 10% for [REDACTED]
=Staking Mechanics=
The reserve of the staking tokens will be in deflationary supply with three halving periods where emission rewards for $APETOS staking are cut in half.
- First Halving — [REDACTED] MM $APETOS tokens
- Second Halving — [REDACTED] MM $APETOS tokens
- Third Halving — [REDACTED] MM $APETOS tokens
Emissions for staking are simply [REDACTED] $APETOS per day.
Airdrop Mechanics
Each NFT has a one-time redeemable token drop of exactly 355.20 APETOS tokens, claimable from the Airdrop Claim UI website or smart contract.
Token claims are tracked in a table based on token IDs in the Collection.
Liquidity Pool?
No, not yet.
$APETOS is a utility token.
We have no plans for Hvsh Labs to create any type of LP as of November 3rd, 2022.
But SER, wen Merch?
s00n.
yeah, s00n.
Like literally, we’re finishing up our brand pack and sourcing a supplier to produce and release the flagship collection.
But that will happen AFTER we drop some exclusive 1/1s for the community to rock, including a pair of [REDACTED].
Hahaha. All of this redacted stuff.
Imagine trying to copy the sauce and seeing it redacted?
Or reading this and realizing you went and got yourself banned for FUDD too early?
I’d be really mad.
Regardless, I’m still pretty excited to show you what we’ve all been working on.
Art Upgrade (Transmutation)
We have three different artists from three different backgrounds and styles working on the art upgrade.
We want the art to be familiar, but original and timeless. Something close to the Gen1 collection’s traits to keep rarity nearly the same in transmutation, but a different take altogether on it.
We’re taking the DeGods/DeadGods approach to upgrading your Ape.
You will need:
- A Gen1 Bored Aptos NFT
- Some Amount of $APETOS
- The Transmutation website/smart contract to upgrade your ape.
Here’s a little preview of what we’re working on:
Stay tuned for more information on this as development…uh, develops.
Ahaha.
Let’s Conclude:
There you go. That’s our roadmap for Bored Aptos.
Underwhelming? Good.
You’re not supposed to know every single thing we’re working on.
This just gives you a general idea of the community you’re joining and Ape-ing into.
Just know and remember this:
What’s real will last.

ABOUT BORED APTOS 🦍
First off, let us start by reminding you all that we’re not affiliated with Yuga Labs. in any way, shape, or form. No affiliation.
Those guys are cool, but they’re not us.
This article is a light read for our community to know what’s going on with the project and get an idea of some of the stuff we have planned for the future. It isn’t an investment vehicle offering; it isn’t a roadmap; it isn’t even a white paper.
It’s just a Medium blog post.
If you want to be part of a fun, degenerate, and close-knit community on Aptos, join our Discord server to join in on our dope conversations with dope people and give feedback to a hard-working team.
#open-a-ticket on our Support server if you need anything else.
We have some pretty cool opportunities for those who get involved.
